My name is Melanie Bourg Fabre. I am a native of Grand Caillou. I am a high school graduate of South Terrebonne and a college graduate of Nicholls State University. I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in education. In my teenage years, I coached baseball, basketball, softball, and tennis. I was a bilingual paraprofessional for one year, then worked my way through to college to become a teacher. My first year was at Dularge Middle in a 5th grade self-contained class. The following year went on to teach 30 years at Grand Caillou middle. While at GCMS, I was voted teacher of the year twice and received the gold star for two years. I retired in 2018 since I taught two years at SMS and substituted in public school for the last year. I'm looking forward to teaching and encouraging the students at QHS Learning Academy in the upcoming school year

Pharren Butler
K-2nd Educational Pathway Coach
My name is Mrs. Pharren Butler, and I am thrilled to be part of the QHS Learning Academy family. I have taught and substituted at schools in Lafourche, Terrebonne, and East Baton Parishes over the past 16 years and absolutely love working with young learners. Watching children grow academically and personally is one of the greatest joys of my career.
I earned my Bachelor of Science from Southern University and A&M College and Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix. I have experience teaching various grade levels, but I’ve found that the elementary level is where I truly thrive. In my classroom, I focus on building a strong community, encouraging curiosity, and fostering a love for learning in every child.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time and traveling with my husband and son. I believe that learning should be engaging, inclusive, and meaningful, and I’m committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

Andrea Scott
Office Manager/ Administrator Assistant
My name is Andréa Scott. I was raised in Houma and come from a large family of Homeschoolers. This life-time experience has given me great respect for the responsibility and importance of teaching our youth, and in the process I acquired a wide understanding of how to work with children of all ages. I also learned the necessity of good management, communication and reliability in such an environment so that teachers can do their work, parents can be informed and at peace, and children can learn well and happily.
My personal goal is to help provide children with a safe environment that they can grow in and be treated as individuals.
I was privileged and deeply enjoyed being the Co-Director and Accompanist (Piano) of the St. Francis de Sales Children’s Choir for a few years. This gave me the opportunity to share with the children and my Church community my love of music and praising God.
I look forward to using my skills and experience as a Professional Nanny for 13 years, 3 years working as a Library Clerk for the Terrebonne Parish Library System, a Business Assistant, a Line Tech in the Daycare at Touchstone Center in Thibodaux, LA, and assisting in a Homeschool Co-op to support the staff and students QHS Learning Academy.
